I live in the Nanjemoy area and want to send my 3 year old to the Head Start program this fall.

Anyone have experience with it?

Nope, my kids didn't qualify, we weren't poor enough.

You have to be dirt poor to qualify. I called and the lady told me limit on income was $18k a year. I thought she was kidding at first. She wasn't. :barf:

only knowledge I have with headstart is that they tend to employ high school teens to train them in daycare. this is good b/c it gets them experience, unless you get a bad group of kids in there who are only doing it because they need the credits. :ohwell:

check it out thoroughly before you do it! there are a lot of programs out there for daycare if you earn a low income ... calling the southern maryland child care referral service might help out too. I think their info is on this site somewhere. you'll just need to do some legwork in researching options.
