Anyone with any suggestions?

I am trying to sell my truck so that I can put the extra money towards other bills, and was wondering if anyone else has had luck with private party selling. I have posted an ad with SOMD, and plan on having a window display. I have seen where you can advertise in other papers or websites, but they all want a fee of around $30 or more. All comments are welcome. Thanks in advance.

Are you able to get on pax base? They have a 'lemon' lot for 'sale by owners'. Or are you navy ad or ret? Tester???

The classifieds here have always worked for me.......

No more acces to base. Hopefully the classifieds here will work, but want to try and help it out some. the local papers charge around $25 for a weekly ad, and just don't want to keep putting out the money if the truck doesn't sell right away.

I don't know how much time or effort you want to put into selling the truck but if you have some time and you don't want to put any money into advertising, you could go around to the different college campus' and post a bullentin up of your truck. They have memo boards on all the campus' like the CSM Leonardtown, Prince Frederick, and La Plata campus. It's free, you just have to go to a campus and bring the flier to get approval to post it there on the boards and they'll show you where the boards are located in the building. I've seen a lot of "car for sale" fliers on my campus. I know a lot of students would see it and it would definitely get advertised. I'm sure someone would be interested in it.

Autotrader.com is the best way to go. I sold my 93 Integra in 2 weeks to a guy in Richmond. All I had to do was pay the fee and post a pic. The fee was well worth it.

Be about it
I used Autotrader.com last year when trying to sell our SUV and had no luck. Just 1 or 2 hits and nothing serious came of it. I sold it through www.craigslist.org in the Wash D.C. section. The site looks pretty archaic, but I got a lot of hits and finally ended up with results there. I posted it here, but with no luck. However, I think it was b/c the vehicle was newer and the price tag was higher. It's always easier to sell an older, cheaper car. A lot of times if ppl are going to spend higher $$ or get a loan they'd just assume go through a dealer where they feel their warranty is better.

If you are still trying to sell your truck, you are already on Somdonline. They have a classified section. I put a car on it and I received 12 responses the first day and within 24 hrs it was sold.
