AOC won’t shut up about her allegedly harrowing experiences on January 6th. The story becomes more overwrought and fantastical with each retelling. AOC’s reaction to the day has become a national embarrassment.

Same here... Many of my ancestors died while buidling the tunnel system in New York... Italian and Irish imigrants came to the US for work and back then there were no OSHA or DOT standards or minimum wage requirements. When sections of the tunnels collapsed killing the groups working in those areas, they just got another group and moved on..... The only time the family members had any idea was being notified by a "friend" or other family member and it was months, sometimes years before they knew. Some never knew....

This is actually quite funny because as I read it, I thought back to when my dogs were puppies and who frequented our homes over the years.... Babies are just like puppies.... My dogs were only reactive toward my black friends when they grew up without their interaction...

I actually had to go up the street to see them because one of our neighbors was so racist she would threaten us when she saw us hanging around in MY own yard.... The only way we could peacefully be around each other was for me to go to their houses and there was never an issue for me.... We still try and get together when I'm home even though we are all much older now. And the neighbor... Oh she's still around but leaves us alone now a days. I think she has realized there are more people like us than like her and of course as an adult, I wouldn't put up with her crap either....

(Has she been to the Bronx? The average woman weighs 191 pounds there.)

Never mind that for the last half-century, poor people have gotten their grub on the house (food stamps) and their meds taken care of (Medicaid). She believes her presence in Congress was the crucial difference-maker in these nonexistent people’s lives. Hence her nuking of Crowley, who … would have voted the same way she has voted on everything.

AOC and The Squad Want to Replace Fed Chair Because He Isn't Fighting Climate Change




AOC and her radical gang of Squad members are calling on Joe Biden not to name Powell to another term as chairman of the Federal Reserve. The reasons are, as is typical, ludicrous. Powell may have presided over the economic disaster of the pandemic, but AOC thinks his greatest sin is that he is insufficiently enthusiastic about preparing the country for the day when the economy is destroyed by climate change.

“As news of the possible reappointment of Federal Reserve Chair Jerome Powell circulates, we urge President Biden to re-imagine a Federal Reserve focused on eliminating climate risk and advancing racial and economic justice,” the lawmakers said in a joint statement to POLITICO. “We urge the Biden Administration to use this opportunity to appoint a new Federal Reserve Chair.”

How, pray tell, can the chairman of the Federal Reserve “eliminate climate risk”? It will be hard enough for the next woke Fed chair to advance the cause of racial and economic justice. But eliminating the risk of climate change is a pretty tall order for anyone — even a Fed chair.
It’s like asking the CEO of GM or Ford to end world hunger. It’s a ridiculous standard that only radical ignoramuses like AOC and her squad buddies could imagine.

“Under his leadership, the Federal Reserve has taken very little action to mitigate the risk climate change poses to our financial system,” said Ocasio-Cortez (N.Y.), Tlaib (Mich.) and Pressley (Mass.), all of whom sit on the House Financial Services Committee. Reps. Chuy García (D-Ill.), another committee member, and Mondaire Jones (D-N.Y.) also signed on.
“At a time when the Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change is warning of the potential catastrophic and irreversible damage inflicted by a changing climate, we need a leader at the helm that will take bold and decisive action to eliminate climate risk,” they said.

Question: What can a Fed chairman do to mitigate the risk of climate change? It’s like asking King Canute to command the tides not to come in. It’s insane.
