She is pretty ****ing stupid, I can buy that she didn’t understand that meaning for ‘never again’ in the sense of the holocaust.

That being said, all of those definitions are consistent in that they are not exclusive to Nazis.
Ahhhhhh, so she said "concentration camps" instead of "internment camps" over and over and over again, and invoked "Never Again"....because she didn't know what she was saying. Got it. It's not that she DIDN'T invoke Nazis with that combination - it's that she didn't KNOW she was invoking Nazis when she did it.

Your argument makes a lot more sense now (to you, anyway).

Do you need a list of things she has said to prove that she is brain Dead?

And all those phrases mean the word is used for other things, like the Japanese interment camps.
Show one source that says "Concentration camps also include things like the Japanese internment camps".

$1 says he points you to his own previous post! :killingme
I think it is hilarious that he says she didn't understand the use of Never Again "in the sense of the holocaust". Is there another way that it is used such that her statement, "I want to talk to the people who are concerned enough with humanity to say that we should not...that NEVER AGAIN means something, and the fact that concentration camps are now an institutionalized practice in the home of the free is extraordinarily disturbing."

She didn't say, "we should never again have concentration camps." with her meaning being (because she's stupid) "we should never again have internment camps." No, she said, "that NEVER AGAIN means something." She used it as a cause, as a phrase with particular meaning, a title of a larger movement.

He's uncharacteristically correct - she's really stupid. But, she invoked "never again" as a cause, not a phrase within a sentence that didn't invoke the cause. She knew exactly what she was doing, clearly.

Well, duh, of course the word exterminated is horrifying. It was horrifying, and extermination was the indeed the stated goal. Here she directly links the German concentration camps to the detention centers in the US in one sentence. Pretty clear.

As far as "co-opting the language of the oppressor", shes the one co-opting the tragedy of the Holocaust, trying to borrow the horror of that event to fight against something far less horrible. Still sucky, but equating millions rounded up without any choice other than slaughter at home and sent to deliberate mass slaughter in camps to folks whose chose to leave thier homes and make the choice to illegally enter another country where they face detainment in coniditons most likely far better than they have ever enjoyed in thier live is ludicrous.

That’s funny. She directly linked to the Japanese interment camps. If she did anything related to German camps it was at best implied, and she didn’t say or even imply extermination

For your edification, the majority of the German concentration camps were not death camps.

Concentration camp

Concentration camp, internment centre for political prisoners and members of national or minority groups who are confined for reasons of state security, exploitation, or punishment, usually by executive decree or military order. Persons are placed in such camps often on the basis of identification with a particular ethnic or political group rather than as individuals and without benefit either of indictment or fair trial. Concentration camps are to be distinguished from prisons interning persons lawfully convicted of civil crimes and from prisoner-of-war camps in which captured military personnel are held under the laws of war. They are also to be distinguished from refugee camps or detention and relocation centres for the temporary accommodation of large numbers of displaced persons.

Has anyone mention the German POW camps here in the USofA?

Georg Gärtner, the last German POW in America.

In 1985 a federal fugitive chose to turn himself in after evading an FBI manhunt for forty years. The History Guy remembers Georg Gärtner, the last German prisoner of war in the United States.

The biggest idiot in Congress drove a dump truck full of flaming toxic waste off a cliff, and most of the left leaped into the void after her yelling "Auschwitz wasn't so bad!" and "Never Again has nothing to do with the Holocaust!" on the day Trump launched his re-election bid.

It was the slowest pitch Democrats could have tossed over home plate when Trump stepped up to bat. He couldn't have orchestrated a better launch if he could have hypnotized Dems into doing whatever he wanted.

The Dems played perfectly into Trump's pitch as the only defense Middle America has against a gang of raging left-wing kooks. The public knows the Dems are trying to erase the southern border and they don't want that.

The Dems are taking a lot of pressure off Trump from the right, where there is some disappointment with his effectiveness on border security. He might have had an enthusiasm problem there, but Dems just helpfully fixed it for him.

Didn't the Brits get credit for creating concentration camps during the Boer Wars?

Up. Identified. Lase. Fire. On the way.

Now we're playing semantics. Most concentration camps were, in actual operation, death camps. Perhaps not direct execution, but reduced calories, horrible living/working conditions, etc. made the net effect the same.

Let's post what Auschwitz had to say to your argument. This tweet and following ones you can look up set the record straight:

Bottom line, AOC stepped on it big time and instead of putting down the shovel she continued to dig deeper. That she has had so many apologists for this "insensitivity" is appalling.

And, yet, she referred to them as concentration camps many, many, many times more often than internment camps.

"Never Again" is a phrase used primarily about Nazi camps for the extermination of Jews. It's where the phrase started as a label for a cause.

So, she's so stupid she tripled down on one consistent theme, while minimizing the other that you claim she really meant.

It's almost as if SHE is not the most stupid one.

WALSH: AOC Claims That We're Sending Immigrants To ‘Concentration Camps.’ That's An Insane Lie.

This week, Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez did another one of her iconic Instagram live videos where she sat on her couch and babbled about whatever subject happened to pop into her head. During the course of that performance, she made some rather startling claims. AOC declared that the government is running "concentration camps" on the border. Implicitly comparing the plight of Central American immigrants in the year 2019 to that of Jews in Nazi Germany, she cited the mantra "Never Again." She also said that children are being sent to "internment camps." So, according to a representative of the United States Congress, we have both internment camps and concentration camps in this country.

AOC spent much of yesterday trying, dishonestly, to downplay and obfuscate these statements. She denied that she was making a Holocaust reference — despite the fact that she used the phrase "never again," which is a slogan specific to the Holocaust — and insisted that "concentration camps are considered by experts as 'the mass detention of civilians without trial.'" As always, she wants to have her rhetorical cake and eat it, too. She wants to evoke images of the Holocaust without having to defend the comparison. It's a bogus game. But no matter what sort of "concentration camp" we're talking about — whether the Nazi variety or North Korean or anything else — it is simply false to claim that we have anything like it in our country.

Someone been reading my posts? :)

" I am not buying it, she wants to have her cake and eat it to. She wants to dog whistle the Holocaust but not actually say it. Bullsh&. "
