If the Republicans take back the U.S. House of Representatives this year, they will be able to overturn a future presidential election, Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez, D-N.Y., warned.

"If we lose the House, this is no joke," Ocasio-Cortez said at a town hall meeting Wednesday. "January 6 was a trial run, and a lot of people don't seem to understand that."

"It was a trial run, and they're going to come back," the congresswoman warned. "Here's the technicality of what happened on January 6: the only reason it wasn't worse was because Democrats had the House and they didn't have the votes in the House."

1. You can't overturn an election. We like to say we're a nation of laws, and it is generally true - if you have an election and one side massively cheats to win - it doesn't go to the loser. You have another election. A GOP House can't retroactively undo the election.

2. Trial run my ass. Jan. 6 is MASSIVELY living in the minds of Democrats. In other countries, an insurrection is thousands of armed mobs attacking and killing and perhaps succeeding at overthrowing the government. It is on a scale like the French or Russian Revolution. We had a few hundred unarmed people - and from the video, MOST of them were let in, walked around and left, and some of the first people prosecuted have had their charges dismissed, because the evidence shows they were led to believe they were ALLOWED inside - and when inside, they took pictures and left. Lots of people were belligerent, but if you were to put the violence on a scale, the authorties present would win.

At the very BEST - they might have bothered people who were finalizing the election. They weren't changing anything, and evidence is mounting that there really wasn't much of any coordinated effort expended.

3. Lastly - it was stopped because the Democrats were in charge? Did they do this while they were running the other way, or huddling under their desks in a building across the street that was never entered? Don't ever count on Democrats to stand up to anything. You know, much as many malign Zelensky, one thing he has NOT done - and that's run away, and he DOES have people trying to kill him.

AOC herself has detailed her horror and fear of being personally molested or hurt - and terrified. In a building no one ever came near, by a crowd of doofuses who probably wouldn't know her from anyone else. She's either grandstanding - which I wouldn't put past her, given her famous pic of crying over an empty parking lot - or seriously stupid, which I am generally betting on.

But if she thinks the crowd on J6 was halted because of brave Democrats, she's delusional. They couldn't panic fast enough - and they STILL are.

I was just on a Quora site about AOC accomplishments - and the weird thing is, they're typically insubstantial while at the same time, praised.

You know, standing up for this or that, or bringing this issue forward, or speaking up about this. The kind of thing any idiot with a soap box can do. But nothing really related to her job.

What bewildered me more was the comments, where people asked "why do Repubicans fear AOC?" and the usual folks give all kinds of insults to the GOP and link in racism and sexism.

Of course, the question itself is absurd, kind of like asking why cats are afraid of mice. They're not. When they're not destroying mice, cats will typically torment their prey, because they aren't the slightest bit afraid of them.

When I was a Democrat (I've always been conservative, but I've been Democrat most of my adult life) I would have been EMBARASSED by AOC. She actually destroys issues by taking them on and making an ass of herself. She's easily one of those people that if she were on YOUR team, you wished was on THEIR team. Republicans don't lampoon AOC because they're afraid - it's that they want everyone to think "THIS is how STUPID your party is" - just as they lampoon Biden's hourly gaffes.
