AP: Terrorists Planning Summer Attack

Washington (AP) - U.S. officials have obtained new intelligence deemed highly credible indicating al-Qaida (website/news) or other terrorists are in the United States and preparing to launch a major attack this summer, The Associated Press has learned.

The intelligence does not include a time, place or method of attack but is among the most disturbing received by the government since the attacks of Sept. 11, 2001, according to a senior federal counterterrorism official who spoke to the AP on condition of anonymity Tuesday.

We can't live our lives in the shadows, fearing every single day because someone might harm us. I just hope that whenever they get these little tips they start cracking down on all the suspicious activity going on (i.e. taking flight classes with no interest in learning how to land a plane )

and they would of continued the planning of said attacks whether we invaded Iraq or not.

...there were quite a few attacks before 'Rush to War", if I recall.

I do not intend to spend one second of my life worrying about Al Qaeda attacks. I pay good money for the CIA and the President to worry about that crap and, frankly, they'd do a better job than I would anyway.

I've read that during J. Edgar Hoover's Day, the FBI's "10 Most Wanted" lists only included those fugitives that the agency was close to apprehending. Apparently, it was a big PR move to make the FBI look like they were on top of things.

Since so many terror alerts have come to nothing, I wonder if Homeland Security is using Hoover's old PR strategy.
