Apple Orchards in southern Maryland?

My grandfather who has been living here for a few years now was recently talking about visiting where he was previously from. He's going soon and he mentioned how he always used to go to the apple orchard there. We've been trying for years to get him to do stuff around here, so....are there any apple orchards he could visit in this area? Specifically, in St. Mary's County? If not, what about Calvert, or even Charles? Surely there has got to be at least one, but I couldn't google up any. I thought I saw an issue of Southern Maryland Living awhile back that had an article on orchards in the area, but they were very specific...

Thanks,

I posted this same question last fall. Do a search on these threads for apple orchards and you'll find it. I went to a couple that were suggested and fell in love with one - but can't remember the name of it! It's down in St. Mary's I believe...

Now I'll have to search for it myself! They were baking pies to order and we waited for what turned out to be the best french apple pie I've ever had!

If you are interested in a day trip, go to Carroll County and visit Baugher's. Big farm, restaurant, orchard, hay rides, pumpkin patch, etc. Neat place...

That's the place and their apples are in season now. We picked up some Gala apples last weekend and they are the best. They also bake their own pies and we have never found any that are better. One of my favorite is the apple/cranberry pie.

Are they the ones that do the hayride at night to?
