Dear Marylanders,
This week, I announced that masks and face coverings are no longer required outdoors in the State of Maryland. Standing service may resume outdoors at bars and restaurants, and all restrictions related to outdoor dining capacity and distancing will be lifted beginning tomorrow.
As our vaccinations continue to expand and our health metrics continue to improve, we expect to be able to take additional actions in the weeks ahead to return to a sense of normalcy. However, I want to stress that the fastest way to put this pandemic behind us is for every single eligible Marylander to get vaccinated as soon as possible. Beginning tomorrow, Marylanders can directly book an appointment at one of our mass vaccination sites by visiting covidvax.maryland.gov or by calling 1-855-MD-GOVAX.
If you have been on the fence or have been waiting to get vaccinated—now is the perfect time to finally go out and get your shot. The vaccines are safe, effective, and widely available across our state at more than 3,000 points of distribution.
After all we have been through over the last year, I know that Marylanders are very eager to return to normal—I know I am. Please remember that we truly are all in this together. And if we can all pull together just a little while longer, soon we will bring this pandemic to an end.
Sincerely,
