Are they leaving him??

Why me??
Good Morning all. I have a question for you all. We have neighbor’s that are in the process of moving and they have been going to their new place every night this week. The thing is they have an outside cat. I just have this strange feeling they are leaving him and not taking him with them. If they do that, how can I get him to come to our house for food and water?? I have 2 inside cats and would LOVE to adopt this outside cat, but he would have to stay outside. I hope you all can help me.
TIA

That's what I was going to do, but I am afraid he won't come over to the house.
If they leave him without food, he'll find what you leave for him....so will the raccoons, opossums and other creatures, but if the cat is friendly, he'll find it before the wild animals do.

:yeahthat: I've moved folks with cats before and the ABSOLUTE last thing you take is the cat. It makes sense to me that they'd take him AFTER they were done running stuff in and out of the new house. He knows where "home" is now... but won't know that about the new house until he gets settled so it's a huge risk to have him running in and out at the new place without him first memorizing his new address.

That is ture!! We have put a note on their door and everything. My husband is getting home early today, so he is going to see if they are home. The only thing is they are moving into an apartment and he is an outside cat ( always has been ) and the have 3 indoor cats. That's why I have a feeling they might be leaving him.

Don't worry, the new guy will take care of him!

Then most certainly point blank ask. I would think they'd much rather hand of the "keys" to you if you offer to take him rather than feel they need to let him fend for himself with the hope he finds a new home on his own.

That's what I am afraid of!! You said he is not a cat person. If they do leave him, PLEASE tell him I am trying to get him over to our house and NOT to do anything to him.

I'll tell him. I'm sure he wouldn't do anything to the cat. I'm helping him move in so I'll tell him that you are gonna try to get the cat over to your house.

But if you leave food and water out I might be staying outside your house as well:lmao:
