Just sneakin' around....
A few weeks ago, tons of chicken product was recalled for contamination. Couple of days ago it was reported that E. coli contaminated bagged carrots have sickened dozens, left one dead. In my new feed this morning, 160,000 lbs of ground beef being recalled for E. coli.
There have been contamination cases before, and will be again, but it seems these are happening way to often lately. Bad handling practices? Disgruntled foreign workers upset about new Trump policies? Planned attacks from outside sources? If nothing else, be aware.
And trivia for those who don't know. E. coli is shorthand for Entamoeba coli, the full Latin name for the bug. Learned a lot more than I cared to in my parasitology classes.
