Luke 18:9 To some who were confident of their own righteousness and looked down on everyone else, Jesus told this parable: 10 “Two men went up to the temple to pray, one a Pharisee and the other a tax collector. 11 The Pharisee stood by himself and prayed: ‘God, I thank you that I am not like other people—robbers, evildoers, adulterers—or even like this tax collector. 12 I fast twice a week and give a tenth of all I get.’
13 “But the tax collector stood at a distance. He would not even look up to heaven, but beat his breast and said, ‘God, have mercy on me, a sinner.’
14 “I tell you that this man, rather than the other, went home justified before God. For all those who exalt themselves will be humbled, and those who humble themselves will be exalted.”
15 People were also bringing babies to Jesus for him to place his hands on them. When the disciples saw this, they rebuked them. 16 But Jesus called the children to him and said, “Let the little children come to me, and do not hinder them, for the kingdom of God belongs to such as these. 17 Truly I tell you, anyone who will not receive the kingdom of God like a little child will never enter it.”
Are you dreading Heaven?Do you dread death and dying?
Are you stuck being a human on earth?
Yesterday I watched an old episode of Bones. Med students were making other med students' heart stop just so they could get a glimpse of Heaven. Interesting idea, but one student died, for good, and the other "didn't see anything" so he lost all hope. He was very, very, very upset that all those years believing in Heaven, and when he tried to pull his number for a few seconds to get a glimpse, he saw nothing.... no Heaven... nothing. His "lab" partner was dead now, and he had no hope. The Bones twist, they hid the body in a church... ugh.
The premise of the Bones episode was that there may not be a heaven. Bones is a scientist, and she calls the Bible a fairytale. I remember, back in the days when this episode first came out, I almost stopped watching the program all together. No Heaven! Made up tale! She's a moron! But, then again, it is a topic to be discussed.
I find it heartbreaking that people are so bigheaded they are willing to call the Bible a fairytale.
When I get to Heaven, there won't be any bigheaded church leaders who are trying to find fault with me. Once God decides to let me stay in Heaven, in spite of all the ignorant moronic things I have done in this life, no bigheaded church leader will have a say in it. They got their chance here on earth. In fact, I think I read where they will be judged too... and since they were guilty of bigheadedness, for which they won't repent... they may have a hard time getting and invited in. They are too bigheaded to put Jesus first. It's all about them, and the effort they put into the church. It's all about the funds. It's all about the finances. It's all about the holier than thou with the Pharisees.
Next, Dr. Luke described how children were received by Jesus. Jesus, it seems, was the first to kiss a baby [politics].... lol. No, really, Jesus loved little kids. They were innocent and they recognized His innocence. Jesus told us to be like children!
I find it heartbreaking that I live in an era when women would rather die than bring a child into the world.
Are you dreading Heaven?
