2nd Educational Seminar -- Are You Ready When You or Your Pet Dies?

When: Thursday, April 24, 2008 at 07:00PM
Where: Calvert Country School

Please hold this date... Due to the overwhelming response to our first educational session, we have decided to change the venue and require pre-registration. Do you know what would happen to your pet/s if you were to die. All too often, people rely on family members to care for them after you are gone. We have seen an increase in this not being the case. Many families are unable to care for another pet and end up seeking assistance or giving these animals up to shelters. Where more often than not, they are euthanized. For many of us, we may not have plans in place for our pets if we die. This session will provide you with options and resources for you to plan for your pets after you are gone. Our speaker in this area will provide background and options of adding your pets to your trust. Our second topic for this sesssion will provide you with resources for local and on-line bereavement groups, publications and tips on how to address the loss of a beloved pet and what to do after your pet dies. Our speaker on this topic will share options of remembrance of your pet after he/she has passed over the Rainbow Bridge. For information, please e-mail debsamler@hotmail.com. Stay tuned for updates. These sessions are co-sponsored by the Humane Society Club of Huntingtown High School and through the United Way of Calvert County. The information shared at these sessions are to provide guidelines and resources and is not intened to provide legal advice. Where applicable, you should consult with an attorney.

:yay: Signed up and looking forward to it. We were just discussing making a will and wondering how to make sure the animals were taken care of if something happened to both of us.

I signed up too. We've got a houseful of critters and have been wondering how to make arrangements for them if we (the humans) passed over the rainbow bridge.

HSCC....thanks for presenting this!
