No Use for Donk Twits
Arizona Executive Fired for Chick-fil-A Protest (VIDEO) | Veracity Stew

In the last two weeks I have seen hundreds of online comments from supporters of Chick-fil-A insisting that the company’s president, Dan Cathy, is being discriminated against just because of his “personal opinion” about homosexuals and gay marriage. They don’t comprehend that it goes beyond Mr. Cathy’s “personal opinion” when he donates millions each year to support hate groups.

But if we accept the whole “Dan Cathy is being unfairly persecuted for his right to free speech” premise, then we must also address that countless others, who support equality and tolerance, are also discriminated against for exercising their rights to speech and protest.

Case in point: Adam Smith was the Chief Financial Officer of the Tucson-based Ante corporation until he was fired this week because he dared to post a video online documenting his protest of Chick-fil-A.
This is how the left portrays Adam Smith's firing for the Chick-fil-A rant.

The comments are hilarious, no bigotry there.... yeah right.

I think Smith's employer let him go because they found out he is a dumdum. Yes, if you think about it, Smith has the right to voice his opinion, the same as Cathy has his right, as well. What I find that is wrong with this picture (no pun intended) is that Smith videoed his comments, and included an innocent CFA employee, that had know idea what was going on; that's wrong. That is where, I think, Smith's employer using the term "inappropriate" comment comes in. If Smith had just conducted his drivethru rant without video, there would not be a forum thread about his video with 161 posts, currently; and Smith would still have his job. No one would have ever known it happened. I would not want a CFO of my company that is so obviously capable of bad judgement/decisions. We all live and learn, but just hope we don't screw up our life while we're learning! I still think the remarks on this forum regarding...think about what you are about to post before you hit that submit button/or even use the X button and walk away...is good advice to live by in real life!! I know I try to live by that rule now!

Power with Control
Chick Fil A posted 2 free coupon ads over this clip, which I thought was ironic. Of course they will try to use this negative to make a few more bucks for their hate mongering.

some goober doesnt get contextual advertising:) Saw another commentor who said this was the only way to get at the company, to haras....I mean politely but constantly explain to the workers what a bad company they work for so the workers will stop performing drive thru duties.........

So not only do these advocates oppose his right to free speech....

it goes beyond Mr. Cathy’s “personal opinion” when he donates millions each year to support hate groups.

they also oppose his right to spend his money in a manner he desires!

I am on the fence about gay marriage. I don't care about the sexuality of a person, but am more concerned with their character. I would disagree with any non-religious (not to say that religious groups discriminate, but that's a long conversation) group that discriminates against a person because of their sexuality.

I do agree with the right of a person to voice his opinion. In the case of this family owned business, I think he even has a right to say that this is the viewpoint of his organization and if you don't like it you can eat elsewhere, although I don't think that is what he was doing, I think it was his personal opinon.

Radical groups, whether on the left of issues or the right of issues, are what's causing the great divide in this country. Most Americans I think would meet in the middle about most issues. I thin, most Americans use common sense when it comes to the way they treat other people.

This is a weird post, I'm all over the place. I shouldn't have drank so much while cutting the grass.

Well, get off the fence, or you will probably be sitting on a fencepost.

as far as being weird, that is the left, always has been. Their agenda is enough weird, over and over again, will become the norm, making the what was the former norm weird.

That's all they have, really, making their own weirdness normal.:drummer:

Most companies require their execs to sign a morals clause, to release the company from libel when an exec does something stupid. Smith certainly put his company in a bad light. (and the UofA) From his apology, it sounds like his company was probably having a hard time conducting business if their voicemail was full the next day with complaints and threats.

This is my guess as well. Protest schmotest, he acted like a complete goober mental case about it the way he kept badgering that girl and the idiotic way he was talking for the camera.

I'll bet his company was saying "that d-bag has finally done something we can fire him for". I don't think he was out of character when he did this - his apology video confirms that.

I can't sleep, so replying to your post. I agree that he was in character when he "pulled his stunt", but I do believe people regret how they respond to a situation. I am living proof as far as this forum goes; but I did not find his apology to be sincere; so I think he didn't learn or change. He is just trying to get himself out of a national embarrassment, and not too good at it, imo. We just have to think of what we are doing at all times, and try to be better human beings.

Another characteristic of the left's politics which I've described before -

1. Conservatives think liberals have bad ideas - liberals think conservatives are bad people.

2. Liberals view their opinions as the only right and moral position; hence, they have no need to tolerate difference because any dissent is "wrong" (which is where I say it resembles religion).

Hence, the conclusion that any opinion other than their own is on the side of evil or wrong.

Global Warming is a Prime Example, you mentioned in a different thread ... in the middle of the last decade, CLIMATE Change was a big item ...... up from GW in the 1990's and the next Ice Age is coming in the 1970's

how much did the Progressives rant 'The Discussion is over, the DATA is in [from cooked book keeping I might add], GW is here and we MUST Do Something for the POLAR BEARS ......... don't you feel something for Mother Earth

if you did not agree, you were TOO Stupid to Understand, of Selfish .... and THEY needed the POWER to make the Tough Decisions for you

like an intervention, Progressives needed to save you from yourself
