Just bought my tickets for the flight. I can't believe how cheap the airfare is. It's 200 less than I paid last year. Now I just have to wait 5 months to go.

My first 2 times there, I went alone. I was going through a bitter divorce, like there's any other kind. I had vacation time coming and I figured I could be miserable in Calvert County or I could take the opportunity that was presented to me and go to Aruba. It was out of my comfort zone but I am glad I went. You should try it. You'll never know what you'll find. I actually met some people from Calvert County on my first trip there.

This year will be trip #7. I own a timeshare there now. I go every week 27 which is 4th of July week. I'm remarried so I go with my wife and my son and step-daughter.

Must be nice there if you keep going back. Guess that answers my "need a traveling companion" query...hehehe

It is nice there, and I'll keep going back until I get burned out on it. I don't anticipate that for a while. It took me one trip to get hooked. I go back the same week every year so you see a lot of familiar faces. It becomes like a reunion. Go to the forums of aruba.com and you get a lot of good information on the island. You can view a lot of the pictures that people have posted.
It is surprisingly inexpensive as compared to places like Orlando. My first trip I got an ocean front fully equipped condo for 400 for the week. This place had full hotel amenities. My round trip airfare was about 450. I did most breakfasts and lunches out of the room and ate dinner out. I brought a collapsable cooler so I bought my own liquor at the local grocery store and made my own drinks on the beach. The pool bar drinks are a little expensive. The restaurants down there are incredible. Find a way to go. The offseason there is in the summer. That's the time I like to go.
