Anyone ever heard of one? I've googled it and only found a Gluten Free diet that requires you to buy food online. I'm looking more for foods that can decrease the effects of Asperger's or foods to cut out of the child's diet. Thanks for any info.

Try searching PDD and diet.
I used to work at a school for children with autism and related (Asperger's and other PDD's) disorders and remember a lot of them being on the Casein and Gluten free diets.I do not remember the specifics though.

SG....the health food store in Leonardtown carries a wide variety of gluten free products. Also, you may have to drive to a Whole Food's store to get a bigger selection of items.

This kid is super picky. Have yet to see him eat anything other than chicken patties, nuggets, and maybe a hot dog. Probably with specialty foods is that I know the mother will not pay for them. She feeds her kids the cheapest of everything. Processed meat and Ramen varieties is about all I've seen them eat. It's not even my business but I feel so sorry for this child. I thought that just maybe I could help.

Oh, I am sorry. I misunderstood what you were asking. I thought you were looking for a gluten/casein diet ideas with foods that you can buy from a regular store as opposed to online.

If it were my child, yes. But I know this mother will not spend the extra money on the food.

gluten free and casein free diets help with autistic behaviors. you can find information about what has gluten and casein in it on the web. grocery stores do carry some gluten free products. whole foods and woodburns are expensive but good places to shop. i hear woodburns has the best gluten free bread.

definitely cut out the ramen and any other regular noodes and bread/crackers, anything with wheat in it has gluten. fruits, veggies and meats are not bad.

I'm all about being cheap and saving money but if the kid requires a specialty diet, why would the mother not follow it. If money is very tight she could try approaching social services to see if they have any financial assistance available?

This is exactly what I've ever seen this child eat: breaded chicken patties, chicken nuggets, pizza, tater tots, french fries, Ramen noodles (not seen just knows he likes them), hot dogs, candy, soda, tea, and water.

I'm going to assume that the water is the only thing on that list that is passable.

Laziness I suppose.

Sock, If you already "know" she's not going to change the way she feeds the kid, what is it you are looking for?

Daddy is hoping that she'll atleast look over info. Worst thing is that I am almost certain that all of my research is pointless but I'm handing him the info in hopes that she'll see his concern and atleast read over it.
