Antonio Ugues Jr., associate professor of political science and director of the Center for the Study of Democracy at St. Mary’s College of Maryland, was featured in an article in “The Deseret News” called “The rising tide of authoritarianism.”
“Democracy is in retreat,” said Ugues in the article. “Authoritarianism is not just on the rise, but really flexing its muscles.”
