It looks like they made some friends too. :yay:

They have made some doggy friends there; it's so cute. The first few times, Emmitt (typically timid around other dogs) would only hang out by my feet and walk with me around the park. Now he's wandering off on his own a bit and joining in the doggy chases that go on. The vet said he needed to be on a diet, and he doesn't eat much as it is, so I think it's more a lack of exercise. :yay:

Where is a dog park at around here? My JR doesn't like strangers or people who don't live in our house in general and I am thinking that maybe exposing her to more people and other animals may help with that. On a very tight leash ofcourse!

I would do that only in an area where other dogs are also on a leash, not a dog park. And keeping the leash tight when the dog is uncomfortable can lead to leash agression, your dog should always be on a loose leash.

Thanks for the advice! Maybe thats the problem, the trainer told us that we had to keep jerking her back with the prong collar on until she walked right beside us and not to let her have much run. I thought the same thing the poor dog isn't even allowed to look left or right without a jerk. Maybe thats why we didn't complete the course

:ohwell: My dog is thriving on clicker training, maybe you should try that. Rewarding for positive behavior is much better, and easier, than the negative effects of a prong or choke collar. Poor doggy. :frown:
