Can I start calling the dog mine? I have searched all the lost ads, called vets and tri county to leave my name and # that I have found the dog. Went back to the area that I picked him up and didn't see any signs.. It's been 4 days.

I personally would give it a couple of weeks. Sometimes dogs can travel a great distance in a short time. We had one dog lost in our area last year and it took them two weeks to find him. When they did, she over a mile away. The people were just visiting the area and she ran away in a thunderstorm. The owners were just heart-broken.

Well... when you turn in something to the police, I believe someone generally has 30 days to claim it...

...so... I'd say 30 days is fair...

But when his dog went missing did he post an ad anywhere, or call shelters to try to find it?

Yeah, he did. I think 2 came home but one is still missing. :frown:

At least he made an effort to find his dog. I have checked around, including the classified ads. If they miss him, they should make an effort to find him, which they haven't.

Kwillia likes the way I trim her Schnauzer and the fresh smell of cologne I spray when I am done:blushing:

I didn't know dogs got that "not-so-fresh" feeling. :ohwell:
