What resorts/hotels would you recommend staying in? I have looked at several and am not sure. I had decided on Harrah's but then saw that it seems to be away from everything else. Any recommendations on specific shows I should see or things to do? TIA

I always stayed at the Flagship, but it is at the end of the boardwalk. It's not far.

The Tropicana. We go every year for our anniversary and love it. They will usually offer you tickets to a show in their casino when you book your room.

We've stayed at the Trump Plaza. Very nice place.

We always stay at the Borgata. It's not close to much else, but it's super nice and offers every amenity you could imagine--so you really don't ever have to leave.

Definitely boasts the best restaurants and spa facilities.

That one was on my top 3 list but the fact that it wasn't close to anything kind of ruled it out. It looks gorgeous on the site though. I think if I went a second time I would stay there. I want to go and see everything and explore the boardwalk and stuff. All that is in the same area by Ceaser's and Bally's. The only reason we are not staying at Ceaser's is because they don't have an indoor pool and we are going mid may. The outdoor pool is not open then. Ball'y has a very nice spa and indoor pool area.

I would NOT suggest the Tropicana. I stayed there once and the room completely grossed me out. The mattress was sunken in the middle, the carpet was filthy, the tile in bathroom was old and cracked. I complained and they upgraded me ....... it wasnt any better!
On a positive note, they do have a fabulous cuban restaurant that serves some yummy Mojitos

Stayed at the Borgota last weekend. It was great. Only thing is that its located off of the boardwalk. If you want to stay on the boardwalk, I would recommend Caesars. Its also across from a good outlet mall.

The Borgata, Trump Marina and Harrahs are nice casino/hotels, the only problem is that they are away from the other casino/hotels that are located on the Boardwalk. Ballys/Wild Wild West @ Ballys, Claridge, Sands and Ceasars are mostly located in the center the Boardwalk where you come in from the Altantic City Expressway. Ballys is nice. Tropicana isn't bad, but that and Trump Plaza, are futher down on the right of the Boardwalk. Trump Taj Mahal, Showboat and Resorts are further to your left from the Bally's, etc. Taj and Showboat are both nice and sort in a more quieter area of the Boardwalk.

If you stay at one of the casinos on the Boardwalk some connect where don't have to go outside to get to them. But for the other ones they are walking distance or they have shuttles, etc. For entertainment - AC is not Vegas, but there are different entertainers that appear or some of the casinos have local bands that play and nightclubs.

Thank you very much! That was so helpful. I've been to Vegas and loved it, but I know Atlantic City is not going to be the same. I'm pretty sure we are going to stay at Bally's. There is a free shuttle that will take you to and from all of the Harrah hotels and casinos. The pool area looks incredible.

Your welcome. Vegas is nice especially w/all the different themes the casinos has, but AC has the boardwalk and the ocean. I've stayed at Bally's and it is nice and more in the center of everything. That's good that they have a free shuttle, but during the day if you like to walk, you can walk the boardwalk to the different ones where you will see the different sites of people on the boardwalk, which is an experience for some.

You should take the shuttle over to Harrahs located by the Marina area that way you can see where the Borgota is, which a lot of people like. For food, like Vegas there is a variety and some do have the Buffets. If you want to go to a good buffet try the Showboat's French Quarter Buffet (which is part of the Harrahs group). - there is always a line, but one of the better ones.

Trump Plaza
It's right in front of you when you come into Atlantic City on the boardwalk, next door to Ceasars
