Attention men: you are dangerous and creepy; stop talking to women out in public.

Not a new story, but gaining traction around the interwebz.

Starbucks barista’s ‘secret note’ on cup to help young woman sparks heated debate: ‘What are men supposed to do?’

A Starbucks barista’s secret note on a cup to a young female customer offering to “intervene” after a man started talking to her has generated heated debate online.

Texas woman Brandy Selim Roberson first shared the story in a viral Facebook post last year.

She praised the employee for stepping in when her 18-year-old daughter was approached by a man she didn’t know while studying by herself at a Corpus Christi location.

The message on the cup read, “Are you okay? Do you want us to intervene? If you do, take the lid off the cup.”

Maybe women should approach men. I was approached by a girl in 1987 in an arcade, she turned into my first kiss.

One of the respondents to the NY Post article (more than likely a she; posted multiple times):

He started talking without asking if they could chat. When she was uncomfortable, he should have left. The baristas noticed. Why couldn't he. Why couldn't he ask first? Why is it her job to control his bad behaviour [sic]?

Man (sees an attractive looking woman sitting by herself in Starbucks): "Excuse me, ma'am; do you mind if we chat?"

Woman: "No, go away."

Man: "Okay then, thanks for your time. Sorry to bother you."

Woman (to herself): "F*cking pussy."

I had one approach me, some 40 years ago (give or take). She was sloshed, so her judgement was questionable, to say the least. And no, I didn't take advantage of that.

Of course, I'm a 5 on a good day, with the wind at my back and the sun in her eyes, so not a lot of women have ever approached me. Not even in my physical prime (weight lifting, swimming, surfing, martial arts).

So there's that.

Maybe next lifetime.

People are such tweaks these days and have no idea how to pick up on social cues. Guys used to get a feel for whether or not to approach a woman, and they could do it in such a way as to not come off creepy.

I blame technology.

We were both 13, it was at a hotel's very large arcade. I'm pretty sure she was just bored that there weren't very many boys her age around.

well, I've given this some thought

1) if the non-birther was a crusty unshaven guy that looked like Brutus in a 1930's Popeye cartoon and was grabber her like only Brutus would, yeah, maybe... (clearly he does not belong in StarBux)

2) if the non-birther had a "man bun", wearing a taupe shade of pink lip gloss wearing rainbow Crocs..... maybe it was asking for a tampon...

Sneakers

Just sneakin' around....
I'm gonna own it. If they think I'm creepy, they're gonna get creepy. Heck, that's what they think of me anyway, so....
