...they have a suspect AND they got HIS mom on the TV for comment and...

...AND...the mom of the murderer of Lauren Burk;

ABC News: Suspect Held in Auburn Coed Murder Case

...said...any guesses???

...AND, in tears, obviously crushed by this, APOLIGIZED, REPEATEDLY and profusely to the family of the victim of her son!!!

It just made me catch my breathe. I mean, this excuses nothing and sure as hell doesn't bring her back, but the simple fact that she is expressing unrestrained guilt and responsibility and apologetic for this is, as sad as it is, is a good thing.

There's hope for us yet.

It was incredible, I agree. That mother has also lost her child. I can't imagine the grief of either family.

Well, that's refreshing. Usually these Moms want to protest about what a good boy their murdering rapist of a son is and how he's not responsible.

...it woulda brought a tear to your eye and maybe a knot to your tummy; she was crushed, she knew it was her boy, her bad boy that she failed, couldn't make him good and he killed someone elses baby and she didn't hide, she didn't deny she was just...so sad, so broken and so sorry.

It was just good to see her honesty.

Lockhart was pulled over for speeding in Phenix City, but took off in his silver Chrysler Sebring when two other investigators were called to the scene. Backup was brought in because Lockhart's vehicle matched the description of one that was involved in a recent robbery, Phenix City police Lt. Curt Lewis said.

Police in Newnan, about 35 miles southwest of Atlanta, said they had issued a lookout for Lockhart's Sebring after an elderly woman was robbed outside a Wal-Mart just off I-85 near the Coweta County city.

Newnan police said 72-year-old Marjorie Llewellyn of Newnan was pistol-whipped and briefly kidnapped at gunpoint during an armed robbery and attempted carjacking earlier in the day, the Newnan Times-Herald reported. The incident took place shortly before 10 a.m. Friday.

Lockhart later confessed to robbing an elderly woman last week outside a Wal-Mart in Phenix City, as well as four other robberies in the area, Lewis said.

WRBL, a station in nearby Columbus, Ga., also reported that Lockhart, a 2003 high school graduate, spent three years in the Army but was dishonorably discharged for punching a sergeant.
