I need a local auto locksmith who can program a smart key.

Dealer wanted...get this...

$290.30 - for the smartkey
$128.47 - for the lil key that goes in smartkey
$105.00 - to program smartkey
$523.77 + tax!!!

I found the FOB with the lil key on Amazon for $189.00.
They said most dealers would program as a courtesy but if not, find a local auto locksmith to program & cut the lil key.

Any recommendations Northern St. Marys or Laplata/Waldorf areas?

Depends, but most modern keys are quite a bit different that those.

Baja, what sort of vehicle is this? Most dealerships wont touch internet sourced keys, they say because they dont want to be liable if it doesn't take programming, and there is some truth to that, but it's also to protect stupidly large profit margins.

Would THIS face lie?

Hmmm, only one key? You might find a locksmith from a major metro area equipped to do this, but most local folks are not going to have made the investemt in the right gear. I found one reference to someone using a local dealership to add used keys to the car, but said it was a major pain to convince them to even try, like reflashing used engine computers for the Neons, dealerships simply are not told it's even possible.
