Power with Control
So, we have talked about this before, the automated enforcement indusrty spent 600K lobbying sate legislators to get the law allowing automated enforcement to pass. And they apparently got to ghost write it too, with a few sops thrown in the make it appear that the citizens were being watched out for by the people elected for that purpose.
So, here's another great example of how it works. A few things first. Maryland law is quite clear on a few points, No wiggle room, black and white.
Maryland Drivers Alliance: Morningside Admits Maintaining No Calibration Records, Doesn't Operate Own Cameras
Cliff notes. Morningside, MD has a system that isnt in compliance with state law in virtually any way. They freely admit this in response to PIA requests. And they know damn well the courts will never come after them, since the court rulings on this subject all say "Yep, that's illegal, and they shouldn't do it, but you, the citizen, have no standing to sue"
