Joshua just saw them, and said "Aww, I love little puppies. I miss Cody being little". :jameo:

I was looking on petfinder the other week, and I saw a crapload of catahoula pups. They were so cute it made me want to slap my momma!!

Poor Cody.

CG, the problem with catahoulas is that they are extremely high maintenance dogs, and people get them either without being properly informed of the undertaking, or ignoring aforementioned information. Then they get shuffled off to a shelter. :ohwell: They look like interesting dogs, so people get them, forgetting why they're bred in the first place and then are surprised when they act the way they do.

I had to google "cattahoulas." I had NO idea what that was. Good looking dog. Website I went to said "...needs constant obedience reinforcement...with a high energy level.." NOT for me.

And plenty of exercise, plenty of attention, their feelings get hurt easily, they have sensitive stomachs, they try to boss everyone around...:blahblah:. Not for the uninformed or faint of heart. We love ours to pieces.

Baby Cody, and Cody five minutes ago. The stain on the rug is from my brother, not the dog. He just felt the need to sit by it.

Exactly why Louie will probably be my forever foster, he loves me, but most others he wants nothing to do with... He also almost killed my poodle/yorkie, I never realized until AFTER that happened that they have a prey drive.

Mine doesn't do well with other dogs at all, but is fine with cats. He loves cats, and plays very nicely with ours. He and my five year old are thick as thieves, and he often just trots along at his heels. He is extremely needy though, and the one time we had to put him in a kennel, he ended up stressing himself into an upset stomach. :ohwell: He's very in tune to what's going on around him and gets really upset if we so much as go outside without him (he's fine in his crate for a few hours if we have to go somewhere, he just hates the thought that we're playing in the yard without him ). He's really just a big baby, but he's very particular about his surroundings, and if the slightest thing is off, he'll let you know. My brother has a prosthetic leg, and the dog just about flipped his lid when he watched him take it off. :roflmao: He barked at it until he put it back on.

Louie is very handsome, it's a shame he's been tainted by being in a shelter for so long.

Yeah, it kills me, he's a good dog but you HAVE to get past that and it's hard to do for anyone else. I've kenneled him in the past and he was fine with those people, but not someone at my house, he would rather eat them.

So he and I commune and I ask him everyday if he'll ever settle down...

I can imagine. At least he found you, though, and has the chance to be happy. A woman a few towns over from me breeds and rescues catahoulas, and I don't know how she does it. One cat's enough, I can't imagine a whole farm full of them. :jameo:
