Baby gender - did you find out before birth?

Just curious if anyone else was Jurassic school like me and didn't know boy or girl until the baby was actually born. The doctor asked us if we wanted to know, and we said no, so didn't even really see the later ultrasounds that would give it away.

My daughter, on the other hand, knew before she was even showing that they were having a boy.

Didn't find out with the first - I wanted to be surprised. Found out at 6 months for #2 and at 3-4 months for #3. For these it was mainly for money purposes - would I need to buy clothes for a different gender, etc. The nursery and baby toys went either way.

I found out with the first 4 (all boys) but decided not to find out with the last one which was a girl. Best surprise EVER

Yes, I found out and will again. I must know!!!
If there is ever anyone that is to be surprised by a mis-read sonogram... I surely hope it's you! How exciting it would be to fully expect one thing and have the opposite pop out...:cartwheel:

And yes, I personally know several people this has happened to...

I found out with both of mine...though I "knew" beforehand and my intuition was correct with both. First was a boy and 2nd was a girl. I don't buy into the whole "you're ruining the biggest surprise you could ever have" crap because to me I got 2 huge surprises....the day I found out what I was having and the day I met my little one for the first time on their birth day!! Seeing your child for the first time the day they are born is no less special just because you already know they are a boy or girl. I also liked being able to call them a "he" or "she" or by the name we had picked out for the last months of pregnancy...I felt like it helped me bond to them before they were here. Just my thoughts...and having said so, I do think it would be cool to to wait to find out at birth as well, just wasn't for me!

I know people it's happened to also and I would not find that exciting at all. It would really irritate me.

I found out with my first about a week before. Had to have a amniocentesis done and when the doc asked if we wanted to know, Hubby said Yes, I said No, and the doctor heard him first and said Boy! Didn't find out with the second one until she was actually yanked out!

First one, no. Second one, didn't intend to, but had some problems and had a very late in the pregnancy sono...it was obvious.

I think it should be surprise!

So do my brother and SIL were told it was a boy. Bought all boy stuff from clothes to room decor. Ended up having a girl. After 3 more girls they finally had their boy though :)

I HAVE to know. I want to know now as a matter of fact. I really have zero intuition as to what it is. I naturally say "her" when I refer to "it" but I think that's just whats easier.
