I've been reading this in my spare time A primer on parent cruelty -- it's hilarious! :lmao:

The following is a catalog of naming questions and suggestions posted on several different baby naming bulletin boards going back as far as early 2001. All entries are left unedited except for length.

I was thinking of naming my son Toolio. Does anyone know the origin on that one?
---[Jane] DeSac

Toolio DeSac. Boy, can't think of any way that kid'll get picked on. That's one taunt-proof name there!

~~~
I named my first daughter Odessa and my second daughter Blaze and i have gotten wonderful comments from parents at school and work.
Could it be because all the parents at school and work are ALSO Louisiana strippers?
Odessa. Nothing like a kindergartener named after a deeply impoverished Ukrainian town sniffing distance from Chernobyl and home to one of the worst pogroms of the Holocaust. How 'bout Dachau if it's a boy?
~~~

I heard the name Zavary today for a boy. I love it! What do you all think? I also heard the name Toka for a girl,What do you think of that name?

Hey, Toka! Wanna go for a smoke-a? How about some cocoa? She really likes mocha! Let's buy an artichoka! She lives la vida loca!

Zavary - sounds like Col. Klink discussing a gravy.

My daughter-in-law would like to name the baby River Sunshine. That's the first and middle names. I think he's going to be teased in school.

Are you kidding? Boys love being called Sunshine. And it goes so well with the last name "Stankowski."

~~~
My name is Cheri and my husbands name is Chris and our first born is named after his father, Christopher. If I have a girl her name will be Chloe Lynn and if it is a boy I like the name (Shaun) Douglas but I would like to spell it Chaun so that all our names start with "Ch". I noticed that it is not a listed spelling for that name. What do you think?
See, this is what Martha Stewart hath wrought. She's made people obssessed with having matched sets of things, even if it means scarring your kids.
I am having a girl in March. Name is going to be Kali. Can't decide on middle name. Isn't Kali some sort of Hindu underworld deity? A+ on research!
This one reminds me of a joke that's something about Hindus suffering from scurvy for lack of fresh fruit. One day a stranger came into their village and said that he could get them some fruit and make their sickness go away if he could marry the head priest's beautiful daughter.
So the villagers agreed and the stranger commenced to praying. He prayed and prayed for weeks.
Then one day, cantaloupes started falling from the sky! "A miracle!" the villagers cried! "But, before you marry the head priest's beautiful daughter, you must tell us how you accomplished this great feat!"
The stranger said, "Oh, it was easy. I just bowed down and prayed, "Come to me my melon, Kali baby".
:killingme
Okay, I didn't say it was a good joke.
What does that have to do with cantelopes? :lol:
If you have to explain it, it's not funny. I mean, not that it was funny in the first place but....
