Why would a doctor order an X-ray of the lumbar/sacchrum (sp?) region after he has the MRI results?

X-rays have better resolution for bone. MRI's offer better contrast in soft tissue.

I thought that's what the MRI was for :shrug:

I just wish they'd figure out what the heck is wrong.
