Please be watchful of children crossing the road or standing on the side of the road waiting for a bus.

Parents, please encourage your children to stand clear of the road while waiting for the bus. Sitting on the curb may be cool and comfortable, but not wise.

My kiddos bus stop is on a very busy stretch of road.. Since she goes to day care part of the week.. I have opted to drive her to the bus stop there every day instead of having her get onand off at our house.. I hate the idea of all those cars whizzing by.. Last year, I was constantly telling the other kids(all unsupervised) to stop playing near the road, stop running up and down the side walk, don't throw rocks at each other.. Good message Elaine.:yay:

I don't think it's the kids as much as the parents that need a good discipline action!

The mother of one of the kids sqautting on the curb this morning was parked across the street in her SUV. She's obviously not any smarter than the kids or she would have told them to get off the freakin' road.

I totally agree. Where my children go to daycare the middle and high school kids have to wait on the corner of the development at Chancellors Run. They wait in the turn lane since there is no real sidewalk there. These kids don't even seem to care and look downright offended that someone may need to turn in there. Of course if I run one over or get out and yell at them then I will be the one in Leonardtown.

Sounds just like my neighbor . She stands out side yelling at her kids all darn day.. She must be slow or something.. I dunno.. This is the same lady who knocks on random doors on my street and says, " I need someone to watch my kids."

She did it to me and I had never even spoken to her..

Look on the bright side - you live in a friendly neighborhood.
YEAH .. Right! This lady has let her kids wander off almost a mile from home twice this summer and he's only two!.. About a month ago her oldest was in my house without her knowledge and the woman had 10 cops show up.. Her middle child is so destructive he breaks a toy every time he enters my yard... I'm still missing a Tonka truck... I think he ate it...

Sounds like this lady needs a visit from Social Services Dept. as she obviously has no desire to be an attentive parent.
