I tried this once, and while the application sounds easy enough and delicious, it just wasn't as fabulous as it sounded. Because the batter has so much moisture, you MUST cook the bacon really, really crispy, otherwise the bacon gets flabby and icky.
Looks yummy! My mom always put bacon strips in waffles - they were the BEST! I was able to get the sub base chow hall at Pearl Harbor to make waffles that way for me on the weekends when they had made-to-order brunch. A little taste of home.
Those look delish. Another version of pigs in a blanket. Good brunch finger food, like if you cut the bacon in half and make minis. BG is prob right. Would have to cook the bacon to crisp before burning. Thanks for the great food idea.
Ok, just had a thought.... as per BG, gotta make the bacon crispy anyway, so once it's crispy, crumble it and add it to the batter, then pour it out as fingers.

I was actually going to try them today, glad I saw your post before I did, maybe tomorrow I will try it your way. I made sausage gravy and biscuits this morning.
