Bacon jerky to be exact. We tried some recently. Bought some different varieties. I like the maple one better. Tastes just like bacon without the crunch. It would make a good protein source for a hiker or someone that doesn't have refrigeration.

For now just eating it out of the package. I'm sure there are a few recipes where you could incorporate this ingredient for some additional flavor and texture.

I tried it recently as well. I have to say I was pleasantly surprised. Like you said, bacon without the crunch.
 
The pre-cooked bacon is a good choice for hiking, camping, etc. Doesn't need to be 'frigidated until after you open it. But if you're like me, there isn't anything left to put away.

I've opened a pack and put it in a black cast pan on a hot rock in the sun. Just shy of crispy, but perfectly acceptable.
