Bad restaurant stories

I went to red lobster one time and got fettuccine Alfredo and when it came it was just noodles with what looked like nothing but butter on top of it. I sent it back and they sent the same plate back with more sauce on it. It just looked like a pile of buttery watery hot mess.

Went to First Friday in Leonardtown Friday night and went to El Cerro Grande. After we finished eating a ROACH crawled across our table.....Friend jumped out of the booth and ran out of the establishment so fast!!!.....The waiter just acted like it was nothing. Said "see you next time"....I said....NOPE.Never Again!
We had 3 roaches come out from behind a picture on the wall and proceed to walk across the top of our booth seats. Same response from server. I'll never go again.

We were there that Friday night too. Waited forever for a table and the food completely sucked. I swear the white sauce and salsa was watered down. Never going back there again.

I get the impression that it may be next to impossible to have a restaurant with no roaches? Or is it that these places just don't try hard enough to get rid of the roaches?

Not that hard. Get a quarterly visit from a pest control company and keep cardboard boxes out of storage areas and kitchens.

Around here, it's 'Ah, I don't feel like cooking, let's go somewhere.'
Thing is, "somewhere" is either Taco Bell, Quiznos (sp?); places like that.

I will say, that for a tasty, pretty close to authentic, Mexican meal, you cannot beat Salsa's in L'town; or China Cafe in Callaway, for Chinese.
No, I don't work for either of them; nor am I advertizing for them; it's JMO.
I drove my cousin to China Cafe to pick up her food. While we were there, a young girl working the register was making wontons. She had a big tray and bowl on one of the dining tables, wearing no gloves, filling the wontons. If the phone rang, she went to answer it, then went straight back to filling the wontons. Had to go in the back? Pushed the door open with her hands, came back out and filled. Hair in her face? Pushed it back with her hands, back to filling the wontons. :barf:

If it had been my food I was waiting on, I would've asked for a refund and left immediately.

I know some places don't 100% follow sanitary procedures, but if they don't it's usually out of the customer's view. This girl had no shame.

longtime favorite salas has gone way down hill. Smaller portions and less flavor.

Went to Kevin's in Leonardtown for the first and last dinner over the weekend. Without a doubt the worst crab cake and rockfish ever in a so called seafood resturant. :barf: I had always heard the crab cakes were so good....

My worst experiences were in Prince Frederick Applebee's, twice both times due to lack of service. First time I was with the guy I was seeing on our way to a nice event, but knowing who was catering the event and that neither one of us cared for the food we stopped to get dinner on the way and sat there for 20 minutes (with me watching the clock) before I finally got up and grabbed a waitress to find out where out who our waitress even was (we came in at shift change apparently). After getting hit on by the waiter in front of the then boyfriend and meals being put into the computer wrong (go figure), the boyfriend asked how much he should tip, my answer was at most 5%.
My second experience was lunch during the week with a client and we had finished our lunches (without drink refills or salt and pepper or napkins or utensils), with the waitress right there cleaning and showing off her thong but ignoring my attempts to get her attention, it took 30 minutes to finally get the check and then I asked for the manager and she realized she'd screwed up.

I have to agree this place ranks up there with the worst. My last time there we needed to see the Manager on Duty because our server was horrible. The manager was busy playing video games. We hadn't seen her for 20 minutes and needed our check. When I got the fat bastard's attention away from his video game, he said she was busy doing her secondary duties rolling silver.

What Red Lobster? The one in Salisbury is fantastic.

I want one here but I know it wouldn't be good...so wish away.

As a rule of thumb don't ever expect sanitary conditions from chinese takeout places.

I try hard to not think about that fact, but I must admit I eat way less Chinese food than I used to. I prefer the places that cook the food in front of you ... not to say that the preparation/storage of said food was necessarily sanitary and at proper temperatures.

I've seen roaches at so many restaurants in the area. I can honestly say that I've never seen one at your place. :buddies:
I worked in quite a few restaurants back in the day, in Florida, where the cockroach is king. I can honestly say that Florida restaurants don't hold a candle to the cockroach population in MD restaurants.
