I look forward to going. The ALMS race interests me the most though.
The Indy car series seems to have very little talent these days and the cars aren't what they used to be.

I agree. Anything with curves is great (racing too). ALMS looks like the best. How long is a typical race? I watch F1 religiously so don't really know that much about anything to do with doors. Are there the same classes as Le Mans, where everybody in everything, tries to get the hell out of the way of the Porsche prototypes!

I am a F1 fan too. I have been following F1 for over 20 years.

The American LeMans Series cars are the same as the Lemans cars with a few small differences. The Audi's and Peugeot's dominate Lemans racing now. They have turbo diesels in them with lotsa torque. In the US the races are as little as two hours and as long as 12 hours.

If I had to guess, the Baltimore ALMS race will be 2 hours; most definitely will not go beyond 2:45.

The Audi's were a thing to see (and NOT hear). They were so quiet that you could hold a conversation as they sped right by you 30' away. If you like Porches, BMWs, a few Corvettes in the GT classes and throw in the faster LMP classes, well you end up with a pretty interesting race.

I don't know how smooth they can get those streets in B'more, but they need to do something on a few of them. The pit is in a really odd location. They are putting it between Camden Yards and the warehouse from the looks of the map on their website. Theres virtually no sight lines from there. There's a few other odd things that don't look quite right and unless they are tearing out some traffic islands there are going to be a few narrow and tight turns.

I can't wait for this. A marquee event in my backyard.

The IndyCar race doesn't really interest me, pitiful series in a pitiful state.

I frequent the Inner Harbor and Fells Point. I agree that the streets in that area are a mess, but they are planning a lot of work to prepare the streets for the race.
I think the Inner Harbor is a great area for a GP style race. I believe it will resemble the Long Beach GP and there are plenty of businesses in the Inner Harbor to support the crowd.
I look forward to having a sports car race back in the area again. These cars are very fast and technologically advanced. The drivers in the ALMS are very talented and amongst the best drivers in the world. It is nice to go to a race and see a mix of different sports cars and engine sounds.
