BANK BREAKS INTO OHIO WOMAN’S HOME, REPOSSESSES HER BELONGINGS – BUT THAT’S NOT THE MOST SHOCKING PART OF THE STORY

Having your belongings repossessed by a bank hurts, but it’s worse when it’s done by accident.

That’s what one central Ohio woman claims happened to her.

“Katie Barnett says that the First National Bank in Wellston foreclosed on her house, even though it was not her bank,” 10TV.com reports.

“They repossessed my house on accident, thinking it was the house across the street,” Barnett explained.

Barnett added that she was away when the bank decided to break into her home and take her things.

She said she had “to crawl through the window of her own house in order to get in after she used her own key that did not work,” the report adds.

law enforcement refuses to do anything, says ROBBERY was not the intent so all is good

mean while the bank refuses to replaces the woman's missing or damaged goods

regardless of intent, the women has been denied possession of her assets

"The bank president told 10TV.com they are trying to “come to terms” with Barnett."

Simple, don't negotiate any more. Sue for unlawful entry, conversion of private property.Make the bank pay more for legal fees than what it would have cost to settle up front. It seems lawsuits is all these people respond to. They act just like the govt with a batallion of 2 bit lawyers sitting around with nothing to do but respond to lawsuits.
I was once talking with a U.S.Coast Guard swat commander who raided a small yacht in Baltimore because his computer registration said the vessel had been involved in drug smuggling in Texas. He swatted the boat, busted up the galley door and other damage only to arrest an old couple on board. After an investigation, he found out the DEA failed to correct the computer after the boat had been properly sold to this elderly couple. He demanded DEA compensate the innocent victims for their damage and DEA basically told him to got to hell. Instead of leaving the matter as most would, he took a collection from the other men involved in the raid and they, as a group, compensated the victims best they could to fix the door etc. When I shook this man's hand and said Thank You, I could hardly contain the tear that was forming in my eye. Such a rare event anymore to find men of integrity. I will never forget him and I feel better knowing men like him were/are in service to our country. Why are they so hard to find?

You all, of course (!), realize that a bank does not repossess the property INSIDE the house. They have no right to the property inside the house.

She called the police "but weeks later"???

Just another one of those wonderfully reliable stories from The Blaze!

“They’ve ignored our calls, ignored our letters, legally this is the next step to get my clients compensated,” Allen stated during an interview with CBS News.

Allen then reported to a local branch of the bank with sheriff’s deputies, who he instructed to remove cash from the tellers’ drawers, furniture, computers and other property. Approximately one hour later, the Naples News reports, the bank manager produced a check for $5,772.88 to satisfy Allen’s fees and additional costs.

“We apologize to Mr. Nyerges that there was a delay in receiving the funds,”read the bank’s written statement to the Naples News. “The original request went to an outside attorney who is no longer in business.”

I do not think the home owners win was a 'foreclosure' but seizing assets after winning a court case

No, but the property inside the house probably was hauled off to the dump at the request of the bank, remember the owner was on vacation when this happened.

Skepticism is ok

Huffington post is reporting it too, and it's not like it hasn't happened before. Check the info before shooting the source.

Unfortunately, Your skepticism comes from the knee

It's easier to speak out of his ass when it starts at the knee...
