Morgan's :yay: I've know Larry and his family for twenty years or more. Great people. My sons and husband all go there.

Sometimes it's like sitting at Floyd's in Mayberry :lmao:

Stacey's barbershop is by the pawn shop before WaWa's on GMR. Good peoples in there! Get Stacey or Waverly to tighten you up.

Ya but they were open, well before I got there. The webcam showed them and there were people in there, just door locked.

Went to Toby's once. Actually my ex took my kids there to get haircuts because there was a wait at Jay's. It was a butcher job on one. I took my son back in for a correction cut and found out the butcher was Toby himself. Never went back. Toby took my complaint personally, didn't admit he gave the haircut, nothing, no response, like hitting a brick wall. Typical service for a local business in the county. One of the previous haircutter's for Jay fixed it. Why she's working for someone else always perplexes me, she could open her own shop. Anyway, I won't go back.

Toby is not around anymore. Your comment about service for a local business is unjustified, unless you have been to every local business and not been satisfied.

Meredith @ Toby's does a great job. Jay's starting sucking a$$ after Meredith left.

Last time I checked they're open Tues-Fri 9:00am-5:30pm (close at 5:45, last customer in the door at 5:30). Sat 9:00am-2:30pm, might be 1:30 I can't remember at the moment. If I remember Wed is military day if you'r in the service.

kom526, I've lived here since 1984. Some of the local businesses do really suck, and I have a list of places I won't go back to, but that's my money going somewhere else and my own personal vote. Many went out of business just because they started having more competition. It worked here when there was no place else to go.....so I've been happy seeing some places close up. They deserved it. No service, no smile, oh well......

When someone comes on here looking for recommendations, I'm not going to stand by and be silent when a place that doesn't stand behind their work (the owner especially) will make a mockery out of a simple hair cut. Toby went out for a reason. If I wanted my kids hair to look like that, I would save the money and cut it myself. When I took my son back to Toby, Meredith did fix my son's haircut, with absolutely no apology or comment from Toby. Meredith is the one I was speaking of that should have her own shop. She's probably single-handedly kept Toby in business for years with her talent.

I've quit going to Jay's since it's been sold so I'm up for suggestions myself. They did great for the 14 years I've been going there when Jay owned it.

Toby went out due to cancer I do believe, Nina runs the shop now. Meredith does do a good job but there is no way she could have her own shop, just have her cut your hair and listen. Yes, she does cut what is left of mine.

First you say "typical service of a local business" speaking of bad service but then you backpedal and say "SOME of the local businesses really do suck" well which is it? You are free to patronize any establishment you wish, but do not generalize all local businesses as being bad because some crusty old squid decided to show his a$$.
