MARK YOUR CALENDARS: Walk for the Animals at Bark in the Park is Sunday, October 10, 2010! (We'll be at Turkey Hill Park in LaPlata, Maryland again.) It's our 11th annual Walk and we're expecting our biggest crowd of walkers and dog friends yet!
This year we've added an online fundraising component. Be a Team Captain and start your own fundraising page. Rally your family, friends, coworkers, scout troop, church group, athletic teams! What could be better than spending a day in the park with fellow animal lovers, playing doggie games, watching exciting doggie demos, and checking out all the food and craft vendors we'll have!
Go to Humane Society of Charles County, Inc. - Start page to start your online fundraising page today!
Every dollar raised will go to support our vital community programs:
•Shelter and care of over 3,000 animals annually
•Safe and affordable spay/neuter services
•Low cost vaccinations and microchips
•Emergency veterinary care and rehabiitative care for injured, abused, or stray animals
•Humane Education programs that reach over 10,000 children annually
•Pet visits to local nursing homes and senior centers
•Strong adoption programs to ensure that every companion animal lives in a safe, loving, and secure home!
Spread the word: The only way we can adopt more pets and thrive as an animal shelter is through the generous support of community members like you. Here's a sampling of what your pledges will help with:
•$20 will feed a litter of five infant kittens for a week
•$30 will buy two 50lb. bags of quality dog food or four 25lb. bags of cat food
•$50 will cover the cost of spaying or neutering of a dog or cat before adoption
•$75 will cover our utility bills for 1 1/2 days
•$100 will cover the cost of vaccines, heartworm, or leukemia testing and micro-chipping, as well as spaying and neutering before adoption
