Bathroom Fans

Bathroom Exhaust Fans

The previous owners of my house remodeled it and they did a good job mostly but they left some things out that I want to rectify. Like in the bathrooms they did not put in any fans which can cause an issue since there can be a ton of moisture in there. Both bathrooms are really close to external walls so putting one in should not be hard but I'm not so sure this is something I can tackle myself.

Anyone recommend any good handymen that could help me out?

I just got one(with a light) at Home Depot in Waldorf for $32 and the kit to duct it to the outside of the house for $18

If you know how to wire a switch and can cut a hole in the ceiling and wall(to the outside) you can do it yourself

You are awesome. :huggy: I'm very impressed with the work you have done.

I'm not doing the installation of the fan....I don't like ladders

I have contracted this out to toothbrush man....he owes me for some coveralls that I put zippers in

Well that is my concern the upstairs bathroom I can access from the attic so I have room to work with there. I have a step brother who is an electrician who could help me on the electrical side of things. My issue is really the downstairs bathroom since there isn't any duct work there existing I Would have to run new ducting which is fine but I don't want to rip my drywall down to do so. Also I don't know if you need it insulated, if it's going in the attic they say to insulate it.

Lowe's/Home Depot sells 2 different kinds of ducting kits....one that will work for your upstairs(it vents thru the roof) and it does not require anymore insulation than is in your attic now....you have to chaulk around the vent on the outside to make sure that the rain water doesn't get underneath and leak

The other kit is for your downstairs bathroom....your going to have to cut the drywall enough to make room for the fan itself....cut the hole for the vent on the outside of your house and feed it thru to the hole in the bathroom(don't forget to chaulk this vent on the outside also)
