All this smow talk, its over 2 days away and by then we will all be disappointed when SoMd. will be in the rain and the smow will be to the north and west. In 96 we really didnt have a good blizzard in SoMd. Best blizzards I can remember were 1966 most of you proably werent even born then, and 1979. 79's blizzard I was here in St. Marys didnt see a snowplow for 4 days, snow drifts 3,4 and 5 feet were very common, it was Washingtons Birthday weekend. Thats the kind of storm I'd like to see again, just once.

Don't feel bad Old Hillcrest Guy. I too remember the one in 66 and the one in 79. 1966 I was living in Oxon Hill and it was the biggest snowstorm I ever remember. We were kids but it seemed to be about 6 feet. I am probably remembering a big drift though...

Well I was in Hillcrest, schools closed for over a week. Delivered the Washington Post back then, think it took 2 days to get them to the drop off point, then having to go up and down the streets around our house trying to deliver them some houses you couldnt even see the front of the house from the drifts that came off the roof to the ground some has high as 8 feet. Those were the days.

I got an inch and a half on my deck so far, how much you got down there?
Well, I can't use the deck or driveway to gauge the snow fall, because I have been shoveling while it is still falling. People need to realize that they need to keep up with it, or it will kill them the next day.

I have been able to make a few snow woman in the yard though.
And I'm glad toppick and Pen don't know where I live.
