96 seemed like a good blizzard to me. The snow was up way past my tires and I didn't see a plow on my road for 2 days. I don't remember though actually how much we got in inches. How could I forget President's day 79! I still lived in PG then and still couldn't get in to work for 2 days. I do remember 66, I got snowed in at my grandparents and I loved it.All this smow talk, its over 2 days away and by then we will all be disappointed when SoMd. will be in the rain and the smow will be to the north and west. In 96 we really didnt have a good blizzard in SoMd. Best blizzards I can remember were 1966 most of you proably werent even born then, and 1979. 79's blizzard I was here in St. Marys didnt see a snowplow for 4 days, snow drifts 3,4 and 5 feet were very common, it was Washingtons Birthday weekend. Thats the kind of storm I'd like to see again, just once.
I remember the 66 blizzard!! Dad had to shovel a path out for the dog so he could do his business!! In 79, I was snowed in my dorm at SMC. Everyone scrambled to hit Dick's (Pulliam's) when it started so they wouldn't run out of beer/liquor!!All this smow talk, its over 2 days away and by then we will all be disappointed when SoMd. will be in the rain and the smow will be to the north and west. Classes were even cancelled!Looks like whatever may or may not happen on Tuesday/Wednesday is going to miss SoMD. We're not even in the watch area.

Well, they were right, if your morning commute was before 6AM...... You just can't get home again!WTOP weather blew the call. Last night I was listening and the weather guesser said, "The first system should not be too much of a problem for the morning commute." oopsie!
Camping out at work until the road crews make some headwway.Well, they were right, if your morning commute was before 6AM...... You just can't get home again!
We just got a note from "the boss". We can elect to bail out now to avoid even worse conditions later. I live between 2 big ol' hills, I'm wondering if I can even make it into my driveway.....Camping out at work until the road crews make some headwway.
I had to leave my car at the bottom of my driveway, it said nope, no going up there. We just got a note from "the boss". We can elect to bail out now to avoid even worse conditions later. I live between 2 big ol' hills, I'm wondering if I can even make it into my driveway.....
I can't believe how may accidents there are. I remember when I lived in PA I was driving home from state college. West bound 78 was closed and they were snow blowing it to open while I was driving eastbound 78. That was about 6 feet of snow.. Strange enough there wasn't many accidents... I couldn't imagine how crazy it would be if we got that much snow.Well, they were right, if your morning commute was before 6AM...... You just can't get home again!
