Does anyone here play Battlefield 2 online?

I was thinking of buying it. Only FPS I've played online is Counterstrike. And I really don't like using Steam...

If you have a 360 you can download a multiplayer demo of the game.

i play Battlefield 2 on XBox Live (version 1) and I love it! it's freakin crazy... I haven't actually played the single player stuff yet so if you don't have Live, I can't help you there...

Actually, there is supposed to be a new zombie fest FPS coming out soon that is getting big reviews. It takes on the CS team concepts combined with some great new bots to fill in with a much improved AI (i.e. time their attacks, distract you with frontal assaults while some sneak around and flank, etc...). Unfortunately, I am having a complete blank on the name right now.

I've been hearing B 2142 is pretty awesome as well. I'll have to investigate further...

Well, I guess if you are afraid we will kick your ass if you play 2142, you could puss out and go for B2.

I hop between 2-3 servers that have good population, good ping, and good players. I am usually on an FMJ (When Darkness Falls) or Moongamer server. I haven't forked over any donations to have guaranteed spots on any specific server, though.

Actually, I almost picked up B2 yesterday. I am not sure I will make it to March waiting for the expansion to come out for B 2142 to expand the maps.

I played the Demo and loved it .......... see if it is still around for dl and grab it

I cut my teeth on Half Life while it was the rage ..... then moved on to HL2

I also played UT on my mac

The difference is B2 at $40 should be the deluxe edition including the special ops expansion (more for the money). There will be an expansion coming out for 2142 in March.

Plus there are 2 other $9.99 expansions for B2 you can download from EA Link after loading up B2.

I still haven't picked it up but that is because I showed it to my wife since my birthday is Monday. I am sure I will have it then.
