Given the ever more intense political climate as we approach the November elections, I wanted to mention our ongoing rule that our contractors are basically expected to follow Federal guidelines while working on site. As you may be aware, Feds are covered by a comprehensive law known as the Hatch Act. The basic thrust of this law is to prohibit employees from engaging in political activity while on duty in a Government office. One may not solicit or discourage political activity, campaign for a candidate or party, nor solicit funds while at the office or on Federal property.
