Hope this works!
Another add for good riding gear.
"I'll work on getting some pictures posted. The helmet is toast, obviously. I ground it down on the back of my head pretty good. The helmet is a Nolan X-Lite N-1002 full-face (flip). THe locking mechanism never broke away. My buddy said he was interested to see how the chin bars held up under duress...now he knows.
I was wearing Summer (riding) Pants and the right leg has two holes from friction burns right at the knee and shin.
I was also wearing a Santiago jacket with the goretex liner. There are a few holes worn through on the upper back. Some of the holes on the outside are pretty severe while the holes on the inside where it wore through all the way are minor. All in all, if I hadn't been ATGATT I'd have been in a whole lot worse shape.
One of the first things the flight medic said to me was that I was a pretty smart guy. He's seen too many accidents where they called in for helicopter support with guys not wearing gear and it's not pretty.
In WV they do not have any trauma centers or any helicopter medivac services (according to the flight medic) and they use Maryland's system quite a bit because of a lack of proximity to healthcare facilities. The good news for me is that the Maryland State Police provide Medivac services as a complimentary service. I get no bill...in PA, the chopper ride would cost me $10k.
I'll try to get some pics but the gear did it's job well. I'll wind up having to replace all the pieces at some point. Once I get the bike back, my riding season is probably finished. I also have to deal with SO feelings of should I really be riding a bike anyway?"
