Be Careful

Just wanted to give a shout out to all the scooter folks here with a warning to watch out for deer. I tagged one in my car on the way home from work yesterday. Did plenty of damage to the car and didn't do the deer much good either. I can't imagine what that would have been like on a bike.

Keep it on two wheels.

Last year someone in Delaware tagged a deer on a bike and then they bagged his seat cover.

Couple years back, hubby bought new Honda. Two weeks later on his way to work, smacked a deer at 50 miles an hour. He was so proud, he never laid down the bike. Scared the living crap out of him. His voice was quivering when he called me. Tore up his new bike.

I would have layed the bike down when I ran off in the woods to ditch my shorts. :lmao:

I told him he should of layed it down, then they might of totaled it and he could of had a new bike a week later. Instead, they fixed it and it sat at the shop for 2 months collecting rust. I was so pissed.

Pretty sure we've had the "Should'a laid it down' discussion before. About what a bad idea it is.
Thanks for the deer alert, this isn't the season where folks usually think of woods-rats as a threat on the road.

I keep an eye out for those buggers year round. I've seen 3 on the side of the road this week. 2 dead, one standing there chewing with that stupid look on it's face.

My bad, I didnt actually tell him he should of layed it down. It went more like, since no one saw you, you should have gotten off, grabbed the accellerator and revved it real high and let go so it would continue down the road. Then it would of been totaled.

Or grabbed a nearby fallen tree branch of size and proceeded to whoop up on the bike so it looked like it had ran through the woods. Thus getting a new bike instead of having to wait while his bike gets put back in less than original condition.

Is that the sort of thing you were driving at?

Can't say I condone insurance fraud. A better way, if you or someone you know is mechanically inclined, is to have the estimate done at the local stealership, and make the insurance company cut the check out to YOU, and reclaim the bike. Lots of on-line sites will deliver parts at prices well below retail, you can repair the bike and have $$$s left over for new goodies or just to stick in the bank.
Ah, don't ask how I know this,
Ed

BINGO, but didnt go down that way and the shop left the brand new bike in the weather and it started to rust. I pitched a b!tch and they said tough, we dont have room to put them all inside. I told them the least they could of done was tell us that ahead of time. Azzholes.

If it didn't have rust when it went in, it shouldn't have had it when it came out. I hope I never use those guys, they sound like they don't give a crap about their customers. Whoever they are.......?

Im old but if I remember it was Clinton Cycles and Im not afraid to tell the world they suck. After several phone calls about when it would be done we went up there only to find lots of rust beginning on the pipes and saddle bag latches. They said theres was no way they could keep all bikes inside because of the room. I told them no one mentioned this to us or we could of brought a cover for it. Oh well too bad was thier attitude. They would not do anything to help. They suck.
