Great family fun at Leonardtown’s 4th annual “BEACH PARTY on the Square", on Saturday, August 13th from 4:00 p.m. – 9:00 p.m. on the Square in historic downtown Leonardtown, MD.

Enjoy the upbeat sounds of the “The 25th Hour Band” and “Blonde Ambition”. You won’t want the miss the exciting double dutch performance at 4:45 PM by championship youth jumpers, the “Greenbelt Sity Stars”, and at 7:00 p.m., Ray Owen, national recording artist, will perform “Songs of the Sea”. Also performing will be Philip DePalo of the Baltimore Jugglers Association, who will amaze you with his juggling and fire-eating stunts, "Dingbat the Clown", “Mr. Magic”, “The Island Dance Company Hula Dancers”, and “Jazzercise” with Pam.

Experience the thrills, chills and excitement of real stock car racing with micro-reality stock car racing provided by Hi-Tek Redneck Racing! Stay cool with water spray “hose-downs” provided by the Leonardtown Volunteer Fire Department! Activities will also include sand volleyball, sand pit for kids, moon bounce, bocce ball, hula hoop, jump rope and limbo stick contests, face painting, hair painting, crafts, antique cars and Corvettes, displays, games, prizes, food and much more!

Admission to Leonardtown’s "Beach Party" is free! There is a cost for food and some attractions. Traffic into the downtown Square area will be detoured - follow the signs for free parking around Town, or park at the College of Southern Maryland and take advantage of the free shuttle bus service into the downtown, provided by St. Mary’s Transit. Leonardtown’s “Beach Party on the Square” is sponsored by the Commissioners of Leonardtown and the Leonardtown Business Association. Funds are also provided in part by a grant from the St. Mary’s County Arts Council. Chicklet LIVES for the hula-hoop contest and was SO bummed when the party was cancelled last year. She'll be with her Dad this weekend, so we can see her there and root her on!

:yay: Not sure how they will promote it through town, but I understand the Redneck racing will be set up beyond the Corvettes in front of Bell Motor Co.

Leonardtown is a great town! The Commissioners of Leonardtown and Laschelle Miller (Town Administrator) are the best people to work with. I've worked with them in the past on a few projects.

They put on some fun family events and they are always free.

Nicely Done Leonardtown!

I must admit I'm a little biased........ I live just outside of Leonardtown...
