Beagle / Retriever Mix Missing

What now?!
My baby has broken free from his wonderful fenced-in yard. He was last seen near the homes behind the Exploration buildings in Lexington Park.

He has the face of beagle, but the body of a retriever. He's a medium size dog and weighs about 45 lbs and is fawn with white markings. He has a blue collar on, but the tags for his information and his rabies tag were found near the fence.

I thought I had pictures here at office, but I will have to run home at lunch time to post it.

He goes by the name Scooter and is very friendly. He loves to each chicken...any kind of chicken.

Please call 240-925-3347 or 301-995-4353.

His buddy really misses him too!

Help "Invisible Dogs"
I'm sorry your lost your dog, how scarey!

Be sure to take a flyer to Well Pet, often times found dogs find their way there. That's where my lost dog wound up (2 weeks and 1 day after jumping the fence), and he got lost in Leonardtown.

Scooter is home. Someone brought him to the well pet clinic and they in turn called animal control to take him to tri county animal shelter because they did not have room. Tri county has had him since last Wednesday and I am very frustrated cause I have called animal control every day last week and left messages including looking at their website to see if they picked him up. They never returned my phone call and I got stick paying $66 for boarding. I'm thankful that he was found safe, but even when I called Tri county this morning, they said they didn't have a dog like him come in. Amazingly enough, Animal Relief Fund called to let me know where he was at. Something needs to be done about animal control in St. Mary's county. There were several people at the shelter with the same complaints. I understand it's one man show, but at least update the website or return a phone call.

Thank you so much for the information. I was going to have microchiped last night, but they ran out. They said I two months for to get for $10. I think I will just get it done on Sunday. It will cost me the difference in gas just to save $15 bucks.

Starting Over
I am so thankful my little girl is my 5 o'clock shadow. Where ever I go she is right there literally at 5 o'clock and she doesn't require a leash. I will never have a dog like this again.

I am so glad there was a happy ending.

What now?!
I just got a phone call from St. Mary's Animal Control office. Apparently the complaint I had file at their website brought some attention to the supervisors. My check that I wrote yesterday to spring Scooter out of jail is personally being hand delivered to me tomorrow!

Great customer service for St. Mary's Animal Control supervisory department.

Good that you reported it. How horrible it would have been if he was euthanized while at Tri-County because his "stray" time was up and they needed the space.

Did you happen to be at the shelter last night picking him up around 5:30 - 6:00 with the cute little boy?

That is so wild...we were both there at the same time...LOL

If you're bringing your pup to Callaway for micro-chipping on Sunday I'll keep an eye out for you. :gossip:(there will also be a number of other forumites there). Thanks for supporting Second Hope Rescue.

I'll definitely be there with my two boys, plus my neighbor is coming along too. I'm spreading the word to as many people I know.
