I added to my list of...
...dumbazz stuff that makes people laugh.
For fear of a certain person that warned me of me being a dumbazz today being a forum member, I'm making an effort to beat her to the punch, and to warn all others on here of a possble catostrophe.
So, I was on St Mary's lake fishing till about 3ish. Awesome day on the lake. I even boated a fish, and missed a few more. BUT my day just wouldn't have been complete without a bike ride. So I haul tail home, and throw the cover off the Springer. I run upstairs, grabbed the keys, and grabbed a screw driver on the way back outside.
Fire it up. Bwaah bwa bwa bwa or as you might other wise recognize it ..."hundred-dolla hundred-dolla hundred-dolla..."
Fired up, sounds great, adjusted the idle screw, blipped the throttle a few times to check for dead spots, as this will be the maiden run after installing the new pipes, heads, cam and pushrods.
Sounded good. Idled good.. No leaks. Fantastic! Run back inside, tie on the boots, grab the leather jacket, helmet, gloves and I'm off to the gas station. I pull out of my driveway, make a right, roll to the stopsign and notice the car that I was waiting for to go by so that I could pull out, slowed WAY down and looked HARD. Dayum...I must REALLY look good, eh?
Off I go. I pull in behind her, and down the road we go. Around one corner, around two corners, long straight away so I gun it a little and dayum the bike sounded good. REALLY good seat of the pants feel.
As I come up to the next corner there is a line crew working...ah, they see me coming . Chick comes out, points and yells something...dunno.... I just smile and wave sorta and keep going...on around the corner. Check the mirrors and
What the h... Just then the woman in front of me slows down and pulls over.
Remember that motorcycle cover I so very quickly threw off? It followed me. It hooked on my rear turn signal and was dragging along...bout 12 feet behind me. Then it hit me.... "Ooooohhhhh... that's what they were... crap."
Got the cover back to the house, and off I go again. Bike ran awesome all the way to the gas station. On the way to the g/f's house to show off though, I sunk a lifter. Tap-tap-tap-tap-tap... Fudge.
Should be an easy fix. I don't think there's any damage done, but I'll find out this week. i retired the Springer early for the night and jumped on the Buell. Dayum...I do like that Buell.
