Bedtime Prayers

We say the "PC" version of "Now I lay me down to sleep". What other bedtime prayers can we teach our kids? We'd like alittle variety instead of saying the same one night after night.

Angel of God,
my guardian dear
to whom God's love
commits me here

Ever this night (or day)
be at my side
to light and guard
to rule and guide.

assuming, of course, that you believe in guardian angels

I like that prayer. I definately believe in guardian angels as my youngest should not be here or atleast not as healthy as he is. "Someone" was watching over him that day.

My son and I say the Lord's Prayer and the Hail Mary every night before we go to sleep.

I think that it's good to have your children pray from their hearts. God is a personal God. They should pray for family members and thank him for all that they have.

We pray the Lord's Prayer, Hail Mary, and Glory Be, sometimes I add in a St. Michael.

Can't think
brain numb
inspiration won't come
bad ink
poor pen
thats all, amen

That reminds me of this dinnertime prayer:

God bless the food and bless the host
Who eats the fastest eats the most.

before dinner my 3 1/2 year old wants to pray - god is good, god is great, thank you for this food tonite, Amen - NOW EAT!!

before bed we normally just say thank you for another day and for every one that loves us. (nothing ffancy, just trying to get in the habit of being thankful for what we have.)

I used to say "Goodnight to mommy, and daddy, and Robin, and Aunt Pattie, and Colleen, and Timmy,..."

And I would name every family member and things that I was grateful for to delay the inevitable end.
