WASHINGTON - While modern cars are getting lighter, drivers are getting heavier - and America's fuel economy may be feeling the weight.

The Allstate Blog says that obese Americans are wasting more than 1 billion gallons of fuel per year, Forbes reports.

The Department of Energy says an extra 100 pounds lowers a vehicle's mpg capacity by up to 2 percent.

So that means im saving gas by going to the gym and losing weight, but im burning more gas by going to the gym. So in the long run am I saving gas or not? :confused:

This past weekend I saw something that made me OMG. A guy about 45 and 300-plus easy, getting out of a two-door Honda Civic.
