...whose got one?

My CPA always brings her dogs, has expensive tastes in them, she has a Rhodesian Ridge-back, which is a pretty kewl, but mellow, dog. She's going to show him. She's added a Belgian ##### and man, she is one bad ass dog! She can JUMP! Brought 'em both today.

I tend to move around the office (everywhere?) like a freight train and it took me about three times with her getting upset with me threatening her human before I caught on.

By the end of the day, we'd made friends and I'd gone to get something, forgot about her, burst back into the office and she wagged her tale and had, it seems, accepted me or, at least was OK with it.

Seems like a real good balance between protective guard who isn't just insane, will get used to and accept regulars.

How about it, doggy people?

It's the fawn colored version of the dog in my AV, best dogs ever. Watch them around a flock of geese, they'll round them up in a tight little group before the geese know what's going on. They're happiest when they're working, if they get bored they get in trouble. At times you'll think they are to smart, they'll get through just about any gate and if they really want something, if it's not locked in a safe, they will get it.

I used to work at a kennel that had K-9 dogs and they had a few. They're great dogs, but I don't know that I'd personally own one. They're smart though.

Yea, I have a Malinois. Her name is Lola and she is 4 years old. She does love to herd the other animals around and yes, she can be a real bad ass! I've seen her tear up another dog that was wondering around. She is very, very smart and that is an understatement! They do have an immense energy so if you get one you really need to know that if you don't have lots of time to spend with them, don't get one!!! They will do some damage to a house if not. I know that she would protect me with her life if need be. She has some really big fangs for teeth. The police like to use them for many purposes, ie: drugs, criminals, bombs, etc. Her father was a working dog for Customs. Good noses.

:duel:

Lola loves to search for things. I am currently trying to train her to "search" for the cat (I have him tucked away behind the trees in his carrier) with her very good nose. She follows his trail and she usually finds him within 5 or 10 minutes if I keep her focused. I would love to have her fully trained to search for lost pets, but I don't seem to have the time to put all the training necessary for this feat. They really have very good noses. She can find a toy I have hidden either outdoors or in the house in a couple of minutes. Treats always are key to this fun time. She really loves to do this.

Not looking at getting a dog. I was just interested because I met one today and she is a neat pup.

Yea, they are great dogs IMO. Just very high energy. I like taking her to places where she can meet lots of people and taking her to the park often. She loves people but she can be awkward sometimes with other dogs if not controlled. She gets jeoulous or something.

:yay: They are not a dog for everyone. Lots of energy and most of the time they need a JOB! I had one for a few months as a trial working dog (to see if she was going to work out) and in a few days she learned how to open the glass sliding door and let herself back in! :faint: If only I was able to teach her how to do chores we would have been set! :killingme

I've trained with quite a few. EXCELLENT patrol and personal protection dogs. The sport of "French Ring" was designed for the Malinois. Fasciniating to watch. Had a Mal when I worked security for bomb work... ate my moms furniture.
