Berber Carpet and Spaghetti

watercolor

yeah yeah
So the spaghetti decided that it must love my berber carpet closer than from a plate. *sigh*

Any ideas of how to get the tomato stain out? Do you think oxyclean will work?

What color is it? The carpet, not the spaghetti.

 I knew you meant the carpet.

Here are the pictures. The first pic is obviously of the carpet.. the other two are of the stain. Its a pretty good size stain.. and since it is obviously not "my" carpet.. I have to get it out.

Do what we do - put a plant on top of it.

You could also get creative - make a pattern out of spaghetti sauce and draw all around it so no one will notice....

Actually, I've had a lot of luck with Oxyclean. I don't know about spaghetti sauce in particular but it gets out most everything. Just don't mix it with bleach (as *I* did this weekend). Phew!

Try spraying a white cloth with Shout and dab at the spot.

Problem is I cant just "cover it" because when we do move- the landlords will see it. LOL. Plus- its in the middle of the room. Just cant do that.

But I am going to try oxyclean and hope beyond hope!

I've raved about it before on here and I'll do it now - Woolite Carpet Cleaner. It comes in a blue bottle and is amazing!! I use it when I forget to wipe the doggies feet before they come inside.

Try this out get a spray bottle say 8 oz put 1 oz of ammonia and fill the rest with hot water. sray the spot to presoak for about ten minuites, grab a iron and set it on the highest setting let it warm up. Find a white towel then spray the spot again with the solution and place the towel over the spot and iron up the spot into the towel. This works great for koolaid too.

In My Opinion
What you need to use is an enzyme cleaner. I use one by chemspec called enz-all and it does great on these types of stains when used with a good extractor.

now, I understand that you would not want to spend the bucks on the enz-all for one time use, so, how do we find a cheap enzyme cleaner? We go to the local pet store and get some of the pet stain remover, this is a high enzyme and high PH cleaner,, just what you need.

do it like this.

Spray some of the cleaner on the spot and let it set for about 15 minutes. then, with a rented carpet extractor from Giant or where ever you rent them there, mix the cleaner in with the water and do a very slow pull across the stain while putting down the cleaner.

do the whole carpet with this.

Oh, and as an enzyme cleaner works, it breaks down protiens and releases them into the air as a gas, so,, be warned that if you do have any pee in the carpets, you might want to keep the windows open for a couple hours after you do it.

if that fails, get ahold of me and I might be able to come on down over the weekend and help you out.

That's too much work. Besides, Woolite did the trick!
