Best guess for this dog

Hi,

Looking for suggestions on the breed or breed mixes of this dog. He was rescued from the shelter and is about 8 months old and weighs 40 pounds.

Any guesses??

He's got some shepherd in him, but my clinical assessment points to purebred mutt. They make some of the most well adjusted pets, anyway.

Yea, he has coarse wire hair and stands almost 2 feet to his back.

Aaaa... an unshaved schnauzer can get very shaggy and because the hairs tend to be course, they stick up willy-nilly kinda like the hairs on that pups face.

Yep! Mom was white... dad was salt 'n pepper.

You know... if you want to get him groomed... you can take him to see Appy... she's esxpecially good with terriers and even pretties them up a bit for the spring...
